--- It's spring break for local schools and the University of Northern Iowa. In dwontown Waterloo, there is the World's Greatest Spring Break for Kids. The event is sponsored by the R.J McElroy Trust, and from March 17-21 families can have hands-on fun at eight downtown attractions -- all within a square mile. Discounted admission of $1 per site per person is available. Discounts are available to children and adults accompanying children. Special hours and deals during the week follow: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Phelps Youth Pavilion at the Waterloo Center for the Arts; Phelps FunSpace at College Square Mall; National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum; Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum & Grout Museum; Bluedorn Science Imaginarium. --- Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at Jameson's Public House, 310 E. Fourth St., Waterloo. It will open at 10 a.m., begin serving lunch at 11 a.m. and The band Wylde Nept will perform at 8 p.m.
--- St. Patty's Day Acoustapalooza will be 8:30 p.m. at Spicoli's Bar & Grill in Waterloo. Admission is $5.
