Food Squibs: No Peek Leprechaun Chicken Recipe for St. Pat’s

This Food Squib packs a pot of gold at the end of its rainbow — only in the form of crispy well-seasoned chicken skin. That can disappoint Leprechaun hunters in search of precious metals, but it's the best I can do.

Just as you're not supposed to be able to spot a leprechaun — even on St. Patrick's Day – you're not supposed to spy what's under the foil of this No Peek Leprechaun Chicken until it's done cooking.

It's an easy recipe for a guy too busy dying his hair green on 3/17 or expecting to be too hung over on 3/18 to do a lot of detailed work in the kitchen.

Materials: One 13×9 greased pan. Foil.

Ingredients: One chicken cut up. Two cups rice (brown or white). One can cream of mushroom soup. One can cream of chicken soup. One can white wine. One envelope onion soup.

Preparation:

• Mix rice, soups and liquid together.
• Spread on bottom of 13×9 pan.
• Place chicken on top of mixture.
• Cover tightly with foil.
• Bake for 90 minutes at 350 degrees.

No peeking until time is up, or a Leprechaun will steal your…Actually, no, Nothing gets stolen. You just mess up a good recipe, and that's bad luck.

Mega Millions numbers for March 14; jackpot increases to $400 million

No one matched the winningMega Millions numbers on March 14, 2014, increasing the next jackpot to $400 million.

In the meantime, tonight'sPowerball jackpot is at $70 million.

The Megaplier: 3
According to the Mega Millions official website, five tickets in the multi-state lottery game matched 5 numbers, winning $1 million each.
Those tickets were purchased in Arkansas, Florida, Ohio (2) and Virginia.
Three more tickets used the Megaplaier and won $3 million each.
In Michigan there were no major winners. However, 5 ticket holders matched 4 White Balls, plus the Gold Mega Ball, and won $5,000 each. And 3 ticket holders matched 4 White Balls, with the Megaplier, and won $1,500 each.
• More than 75,000 Michigan players won at least $2.
• And more than 142,000 players won $1 each.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Five balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 75; the Mega ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 15. Tickets cost $1 each. The odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 259 million.
The next Mega Millions drawing is March 18. The jackpot is $400 million.
That will make it the third largest in Mega Millions history after three ticket winners split $656 million in March of 2012, and two ticket holders split $648 million in December of 2013.
Mega Millions is played in 43 states, plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Tonight's Classic Lotto 47 jackpot is $5.25 million. The drawing is 7:29 p.m. (March 15). Deadline 7:08 p.m.
Tonight's Fantasy 5 jackpot is $293,000. The drawing is also 7:29 p.m. Deadline 7:08 p.m. No one matched the winning numbers (on March 14): 04-06-14-28-37.
Tonight's Powerball jackpot is $70 million (March 15). The drawing is at 10:59 p.m. Deadline 9:45 p.m. (in Michigan).
Also, the Michigan Lottery has joined a new daily game, Poker Lotto. More than 18,000 players won at least $2 on March 14.
The next drawing is at 7:29 tonight. Deadline 7:08 p.m. Poker Lotto gives players a chance to play two games, an instant game at each retail terminal where the players see their cards drawn; and those same cards are good for the nightly drawing.
